This round pendant features a very nice piece of Sheep Bridge stone with a Lapis Lazuli stone mounted on top of it adding lovely dimension to the piece overall. I have textured and patterned the setting with cut-outs and lines – making use of the negative space. I’ve given it a light patina. The bail is hidden on the backside. It is approximately 35mm in diameter.
Sheep Bridge Agate is also known as Purple Sagenite Agate. It is known as Sheep Bridge or Sheep’s Bridge as it is found in Yavapai Co., Arizona near a bridge that was originally constructed to cross sheep over the Verde River. It is no longer used as such and the original bridge has been rebuilt to be used by hikers. The metaphysical properties may be in aiding with focused and energy stabilization. The purple agate has the power and harmonizes yin and yang, the positive and negative forces that hold the universe in place. It is a soothing and relieving stone and works slowly but brings great strength.
I get my stone materials and cut, shape and polish them myself. I procure the gold or silver metal flat or as rolled wire or tubes and use it to shape and create my designs.
Hand-crafted art/jewelry are one-of-a-kind pieces and generally are not duplicated exactly. Stones vary, measurements vary. I can collaborate with you if you would like to have a piece made for you or for someone else. Sterling silver may be polished with any number of good silver cleaner/polish products. Natural stones are fragile and may break if dropped, heated directly, stepped on, etc. Care should be taken.
