Description
Seam Agate Cabochon is approximately 33×22.2x9mm. It weights 55.360ct. This is a superior cab. The back is clean and not entirely smooth and is only slightly polished. It is, however suitable for either wire wrapping or being bezel set. I have cut this agate unconventionally. Typically Seam Agate is sliced to show the beautiful interior structures – very often flame-like. This rock had too little height to cut in slices so I opted to come down through the top. I love the free-form result! I have stabilized this cab. It is certainly one of my most favorite pieces to date!
The photographs are take in daylight, no artificial light is used. I have cropped the photo but I have not “enhanced” it in any other way.
I get my stone materials and cut, shape and polish them myself. In general, I attempt to buy from the collector or some person no more than one step removed from the collector/miner. Because I do all of my cutting/carving/polishing myself – there may be slight inconsistencies to the shape of the cabochon. If this is generally accepted and does not very much affect the overall cabochon I will not mention it. If you are looking for a “perfect” cab then you should find a seller from India or China or some other mass producer – these are generally made in factories. I pick the placement of the cut to best profile the rock it comes from. I do not sell any material that I would not use myself.
Natural stones are fragile and may break if dropped, heated directly, exposed to extreme temperatures, stepped on, etc. Care should be taken.
People’s experience with cabochon’s vary. Buying sight unseen sometimes results in perceptions that are unexpected. I do accept returns, within 30 days of your purchase date. The risk at this, however, is shared. I will accept the return, but you must notify me in advance of your intention. You will pay the return shipping. The piece must be 100% in the same good condition in which I shipped it. You must repackage the cab to ensure it arrives to me in unharmed condition (I would resuse the original shipping materials!). I recommend you insure the piece to protect yourself. Keep in mind that USPS or most any shipper will only take responsibility if the package is damaged… Improperly cushioned/packaged items will not likely be reimbursed even with insurance. Once I receive the cab I will promptly reimburse you in the same manner in which you paid me (credit card or PayPal).
